Modern pig fattening house

The Bünne Swine Center was built in 2016 and is a state-of-the-art pig fattening house in the Vechta district. The operation’s technical equipment and spatial arrangement allow us to determine the relevant fattening parameters with scientific precision – if necessary, for individual pigs – while fattening under normal husbandry conditions. This enables us to conduct practical tests that meet scientific standards.

We analyze the effects of various feeds, feed additives, and water supplements on fattening, slaughter yield and fattening efficiency. We can also address experimental questions concerning livestock health and behavior.
